The Watershed Restoration Division has been protecting and restoring salmon habitat since 1994 with a focus on Chinook salmon, an important cultural species listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act. It has become a restoration leader in Water Resources Inventory Area 1 (WRIA 1), the Nooksack River Basin.
The mission of the Natural Resources Restoration Division is to assess, preserve and restore fisheries habitat throughout the Lummi Nation's Usual and Accustomed Areas. Special emphasis will be placed on the recovery of Chinook salmon and other treaty-protected stocks of special significance to the Lummi people.
